The Care package
Most peopleCare is the part that keeps working after launch. Hosting, updates, backups, monitoring and a weekly report, looked after every month, so your website stays one less thing to wrestle with.
A website nobody looks after doesn’t break all at once. It drifts, until the day something stops working and nobody knows why. Care is there so that day doesn’t come.
The short version
Everything you get, in one list.
What's included
Every part of it, and why it's there.
Your website, designed and built
The pages your business needs, a blog and an FAQ with the first entries written, a proper page for what you sell, and search that tells you what people want. Built once, properly, and paid for once.
Hosting for your site and your email
10 GB covers the website and your business email together. Most small sites use a fraction of it.
WordPress updates, applied and checked
WordPress, the theme and every plugin are kept up to date, and checked afterwards, because an update that installs fine can still break a page.
Backups, taken automatically
Your site and its database are backed up without anyone having to remember. If something goes badly wrong, there's a recent copy to go back to.
If an update breaks something, it gets put back
Rolling back a bad update is part of the monthly, not an extra charge. You shouldn't pay twice for something you didn't cause.
Uptime monitoring
Your site is checked around the clock. If it goes down, we hear about it first, not from one of your customers.
Your domain and DNS, handled
The settings that point your domain at your site and your email are managed for you. The domain itself stays registered in your name, in your account. Always.
30 minutes of small edits a month
A price change, a new photo, a corrected phone number. Enough that a typo never needs a quote. Unused time doesn't carry over.
Your weekly report
The same dashboard you get with the build, in your inbox every week: visits, which pages, and which searches brought people in.
How Care works
The day to day, the commitment, and what happens if you outgrow it.
Asking for a change
Email what you need, as plainly as you’d say it on the phone. If it fits in your 30 minutes, it just gets done. If it won’t, you’ll get a price first, and nothing starts until you say yes. Care doesn’t promise a reply time. If your business needs one, that’s what On Call is for.
Three months, then month to month
Care starts with a three-month commitment, then runs month to month: give notice and you can go. If you leave, you get a full export of your site and an hour of help getting it running somewhere else. Nothing is held back, for any reason.
Moving to On Call
If you need more than 30 minutes most months, On Call gives you two hours and a reply by the next business day. It replaces Care rather than sitting on top of it, so you pay for one or the other.
What's excluded
Said plainly, so nothing turns up as a surprise later. Most of it we can still do for you, at a price agreed before we start.
Edits beyond your 30 minutes
Bigger changes are charged by the hour, and you'll know the cost before any work starts.
A deeper cleanup after a hack
If a site is ever compromised, putting it back from a clean backup is part of the monthly. If a backup isn't enough and the site needs a deeper cleanup, that's a separate job, and you'll know what it costs before we start.
New pages, sections or features
Anything that adds to the site rather than maintains it is quoted separately, so a bill never surprises you.
Writing, photos, graphics and logos
Care keeps what's there working and current. New words, photos, graphics or a logo are their own job. We can take them on, and you'll know the cost before anything starts.
Marketing and SEO work
Ads, social media and SEO beyond the weekly report aren't part of Care. We can take them on as a separate job, done by a specialist we trust, and you still deal only with us. You'll know the cost before anything starts.
The training session
Two hours, one to one, for $249: adding a blog post or a product, updating text and pictures, and reading your weekly report. Priced separately, because not everyone wants it.
The keys to the parts that break things
You can add blog posts and FAQs, and update the text and photos set up for you to change, any time. The layout, the design, plugins and settings stay with us, because that's the only way backups, updates and rollbacks can be promised at all. Need something else changed? Ask, and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth it.
